Getting a Jump on Color Trends for 2020

If you’re looking to be on trend with your interior design style, check out what one of the leading paint manufacturers has revealed as its top color choices for 2020.

Behr Paint recently revealed its 2020 Color Trends palette: a balanced mix of grounding shades, energizing bright colors, deep accent hues and atmospheric pastels, developed for both residential and commercial use. The new palette includes 15 colors within three “stories:” Worldhood, Restore and Atmospheric. Shades include soothing blues and greens and rustic tones inspired by “exotic travels” and “rugged landscapes.”

“Each color in the 2020 Color Trends palette evokes an organic beauty,” says Erika Woelfel, vice president of Color and Creative Services at Behr Paint Company. “As residential and commercial design trends continue to blend, this eclectic palette of balanced neutrals, earthy greens, lavish oranges and more will offer professional designers and DIYers an opportunity to transform spaces into experiences that not only enhance the aesthetic of an environment, but impact how people feel.”

According to Behr, the new palette sources inspiration from the desire to engage with the world around us and restore balance in our everyday lives.

Worldhood. This collection features rich hues that offer depth and brightness, providing a rooted and connected experience while deepening the overall warmth of a space. This color story includes: Rumba Orange, Charismatic, Bubble Shell, Cider Spice, and Red Pepper.

Restore. These colors are intended to surround people with serenity and provide restorative qualities to encourage balance. The combination of blues and greens evoke the outdoors to create a feeling of sanctuary. This color story includes: Secret Meadow, Back To Nature, Light Drizzle, Bluebird, and Dragonfly.

Atmospheric. Modern with layered compositions of subtle pastels and neutrals, this family of colors will appeal to both modern and traditional environments. This color story includes: Dusty Lilac, Creamy Mushroom, Painter’s White, Battleship Gray, and Graphic Charcoal.
